YEAR 3 HISTORY
In Year 3, to support our History topics, we have on loan Roman artefacts from The Heritage Museum, Canterbury. The children are encouraged to handle these artefacts and look at the evidence that they produce.
We also have a 'hands on' session with Roman Arms and Armour from the Maidstone Museum. The museum historian gives a talk and a demonstration involving the children wearing armour and marching like legionaries.
The Viking and Anglo-Saxon way of life is expertly illustrated by the 'Living in the Past' group. The day is full of activities involving numerous replica artefacts. The children enjoy these sessions and benefit from the expertise and skills of our visitors.
