SPORT
Football
Football this year has once again been going very well. The 'A' team have won all of their games apart from one and are in the semi-finals of the Primary Schools Cup. The 'B' team have had a mixed season, but for many it has been a valuable experience, and will aid in their progression for next year. The 'B' team have qualified for quarter-finals of the Junior Plate. Training sessions have been thriving with numbers in excess of 50 year 5/6 boys and girls learning a variety of football skills and using these in match situations.
Rugby
Rugby has started early this year with an external coach coming in to help the staff and pupils to develop their skills. Once again the training sessions have been well received with Year 5/6 boys and girls. We are hoping the early start in the training will benefit the children greatly when it comes to the Rugby tournaments.
Hockey
Hockey has already brought success to the school this year with the ' A' team winning the Primary School Mini Hockey Festival. The 'A' team have not lost a game so far this season and the only time they have dropped points is with a couple of draws, one of which was against the 'B' team, so once again the future for Swalecliffe Hockey is looking rosy.
We must acknowledge the schools links with Herne Bay Junior Hockey Club (and Jolyon Marks), which operates training and fixtures for schools in the local area, which has been a great benefit to the children.
Thanks go to teachers, coaches and parents for their continued help and support.
